Dean Bourne has taken the Australian Entertainment Industry by storm and has got everyone talking about the new 'Roy Orbison'! It's hard to believe that it would be at all possible to have the vocal quality and range of the late 'Roy Orbison' - Dean HAS such a gift! Quote "An unbelievable talent !" (leading radio broadcaster, Alan Jones 2GB). Quote "Dean is in a class all of his own, the likes which are rarely seen" (Larry Muhoberac - World renowned musical director and composer.) Quote "I really dig your Roy stuff Dean, you got it"
(Col
Joye, pioneering Aussie pop star) Far too often, the description of 'magnificent', 'unbelievable', 'next best thing' and 'uncanny' are used to describe those unique entertainers who choose to emulate their chosen idol. In this case, there are really no adjectives to fully sum up Dean Bourne's special talent - that of not only being Australia's finest exponent of the late great 'Roy Orbison' but probably, the world. Dean started performing at the ripe old age of 10 and by the time he had reached 15 he had conquered the local club, pub and restaurant circuits. Even at this early age, it was evident that Dean had a special gift, not only for playing the guitar but for his extraordinary vocal ability. In 1997, Dean auditioned for 'Follow that Dream' - a showcase of look-a-likes and sound-a-likes. He overwhelmingly won both the audience and judges Grand Final. Deans talents are in constant demand throughout the Australian entertainment industry, and internationally. Dean's success was noticed by the producers of 'Idolz in Concert', who immediately signed Dean to appear as the popular 'Roy Orbison' in their show and was then nominated for an Australian Entertainment 'MO' Award in the year 2000. In the later part of the year 2000, Dean ventured into his own fully produced tribute to 'Roy Orbison'. The show to date, is receiving rave reviews from the harshest critics and his popularity can be gauged by the fact that he has filled every auditorium (Twin Towns Services Club, Rooty Hill RSL, Blacktown Workers) in which he has performed with the venues immediately rebooking the show in the earliest possible time. The hard work was recognized in 2002, just 2 years post inception of 'Orbison The Tribute' the show received an ACE Award nomination in the best 'Tribute Show' category, followed by consecutive nominations in 2003 to 2006 and again in 2008 and 2009. Dean's show was also nominated for a prestigious Australian Entertainment 'MO' Award in the 'Best Variety Production Show' category in 2003, 2005 and 2007. 2009 was an exciting and successful year as Dean teamed up with the Australian music legend Marty Rhone and The A J Ferris Band in 'The Dream Tour' touring Australian Theatres including Crown Casino, Melbourne, State Theatre, Sydney, Her Majesty's Theatre, Adelaide and Burswood Casino, Perth. For the first time anywhere in the world, a tribute to the Prince of Pop and the Prince of Rock - Cliff & The Shadows & The Big O - Roy Orbison, together on stage for the first time. 'The Dream Tour'. 2010 will be sure to please. A brand new club show 'Roy Orbison Reborn' will be introduced with many more of Roy's biggest hits. Dean will again partner up with Marty Rhone in the 'Born to Rock' Tour which will kick off in Her Majesty's Theatre, Adelaide on May 8. These are two must see shows. You won't be disappointed. 'DEAN BOURNE is Roy Orbison' - with the cream of Australia's musicians and backing vocalists, takes the audience on a whirlwind journey back through recording history. Handled with honesty, taste and professionalism through some of the greatest musical memories of our time. - Don't miss the show of a lifetime
