Behind
the scenes of Deans shows, numerous people provide assistance and have important roles to play in ensuring that
every show is a success. Without their contributions, the shows would not run
smoothly,
or with the high level of quality and professionalism that is expected. Get up close and
personal with all that happens behind the scenes that “makes things
happen”!
It all starts
with the agent, making hundreds of phone calls, sending even more
emails, and meeting with club entertainment managers to obtain a
booking. Once a booking is made, the information is passed onto
Management. Phone calls are made to our musicians to check availability and hopefully without too many problems,
the band and backing vocalists are put together and dates are locked in.
The venue details are then updated onto the website.
In the weeks
leading up to the show date, collaboration is made with the agent, club, band members
and backing vocalists to ensure everything is as planned. A song list
is arranged, music charts are compiled and costumes organised.
Arrival at the
venue takes place several hours prior to 'Showtime'. So for Dean, the musicians,
the backing vocalists, production team, and other stage hands, the show
has already started. Stage hands set up music stands, lights and leads.
Musicians setup their instruments and the production team connect the
hundreds of leads that give you the sound and lights. Each instrument, microphone
and light is finely tuned and checked until everyone is happy.
The place where
performers, costumes, and makeup come together are the dressing rooms.
The impending show is discussed with all members, hair is teased and
sprayed, makeup is applied and performers dressed. Time for a short
moment to relax and focus before 'Showtime'..
After the show, it's
a reversal, packing up the costumes, the musical
instruments and charts, stands, lights and leads which mostly
takes place whilst Dean greets the crowd, then - "IT'S
OVER" until
the next show.
